McCovey's Restaurant, Walnut Creek, CA

Sunday, February 24, 2013

Your mission.....
Should you choose to accept it.....
Is to visit McCovey's in Walnut Creek....
Try the food...
And blog about it....

And try we did... We (Amigo 1 & 3) (see original post below for explanation of Amigo 1, 2, & 3...) drove to Walnut Creek Sunday afternoon, after church was over (of course, pastor ran a little long-winded on this particular morning  preached a wonderful sermon this morning) and we met up with Amigo # 2. We entered the rendezvous point called McCovey's.

We were seated at our table.... (second table from the far end... right below jersey # 30)

And the afternoon began...
We shared stories (we hadn't seen each other since the SuperBowl, ya know!) and laughed hilariously.

We finally got around to ordering...

We started with an order of lumpia.... (i know, a strange appetizer from a Sports Bar, but they were yummy!)

Next we ordered our food...

Amigo # 1 ordered the fried chicken and mashed potatoes. He was told it would take about 25 minutes to prepare and he said he did not care. That was what he had come for! (Give the man his chicken and taters for sure!)

was the verdict for this plate!

Amigo # 2 ordered the Famous BBQ Combo Plate with ball tip and ribs. This plate looked delicious when it arrived (you judge for yourself....)

See??? I told you, didn't I?

And Amigo # 3 ordered the Famous BBQ Combo Plate with Chicken, Pulled Pork and ribs. This plate also looked delicious and the food on it tasted the same way!!!!! Fabulous!

What can I say?

After we finished our plates food, we turned down dessert. And continued to talk and visit, laugh and make plans for more trips in our future.

We sat for so long....

that the waitress finally came back....

and asked us if we were ready......

for dessert yet.....

And we said.......

YES! Bring us a menu please.

We looked at the menu and when she came to take our order,
we ordered 2 banana splits and one cheesecake.

Dessert was finally over and man was it good! I hadn't had a banana split in ages and ages! (I think, honestly, since summer 2010 when we went to Farrell's down south).

All in all, we spent over 3 hours in McCovey's, looking around at the decor...

and just plain having a grand ol' time!

Can't wait to do it again!
